Rv inverters I am getting a 24 volt reading in my 12 volt RV, do I have a bad inverter?
I have 24 volts showing on my volt meter when I check my voltage. I have disconnected both batteries and only hooked the battery back that cranks the motor home. Still I get 24 volts. Could the inverter be the problem?
I don't see how. That's the wrong end of the inverter. That takes AC and makes DC out of it. I don't it's even connected to the electrical circuit. Are you sure you're measuring correctly? You'd be burning out light bulbs and our turn signals would be fast. Your dash lights and headlights would be very bright as well. Where are you measuring and what happened to make you check it in the first place?

Rv inverters 750 W inverter hooked to a battery to run laptop and printer but printer calls for 120v?
I have a 6x10 enclosed trailer..Inside the trailer I have a diehard rv/marine deep cycle battery wired to charge when I tow th trailer..I have a 750W Die hard inverter.I need to run my laptop and printer so I can print pictures in the field.My inverter says DC to 110v but my printer calls for 120V.Will I be ok? Laptop,Printer and maybe a very small 8" fan to run off the 750Watt Inverter connected to a fully charged battery. My concern is the printer saying 120V but inverter only 110.The guy at sears said no problem it will run it plus some. What do you think?
The 110 -120 difference is not a problem. The main issue that you may run across is with laser printers. The heater used for fusing the toner may draw more wattage than your inverter can handle.
Your fan motor might not like the waveform produced by the inverter and may overheat. I'd suggest using a 12 VDC fan and run it directly off the battery instead

is a 78amp Hr 750CCA battery considered deep cycle?
I am renting an SUV to go camping, I'd like to use a solar power kit (as used on RV's or boats) with an inverter to run lights, fans recharge batteries etc.
Is a large SUV battery (78amp Hr 750CCA battery) comparable to a deep cycle battery found on an RV or boat?

Deep cycle batteries are constructed differently from batteries used to start vehicles. The SUV battery you mention is probably designed to deliver large current for a short time (i.e. starting the engine) whereas a deep cycle battery is designed to provide less current but over a very long period of time (almost to the point of discharge). If you use a starter battery as a deep cycle battery it may not last long due to the lead plates deteriorating.
