Range Hood Vent Is a direct vent better than a charcoal filter for a range hood?
Of course. With a charcoal filter and a recirculating vent, the moisture and heat all come back into the room, along with a lot of the smell you are trying to get rid of. With a direct outside vent, everything that goes into the vent goes outdoors, where you can share it with your neighbors.

Motor Vent Used I own a Shop-Vac that is 25 yrs. old. It emits this smell of something burning(like plastic)when it's running
Hi. I have a 25 year old Shop-Vac that emits a horrible plastic-smelling smoke when it's running. Also, if you look into the vents on the top of it, I can see a large greenish arc coming from the inside of it. My assumption is that due to the age the motor is finally giving out on it. I'm afraid to use it because I'm afraid further use might cause it to catch fire. I had to rent one a new one to finish the job I had to do. Any info on what might be wrong? Thanks for the answers! I finally got a new one tonight.

Air that feels good must be properly humidified. Heated air dries out the mucous membranes (weakening your resistance to viral infections). Overheated dry air makes you feel tired and listless. Your skin dries out, your plants suffer and your wooden furniture starts to show cracks...

How do I check Blower Motor circuit on 98 Dodge Dakota?
I have the Haynes repair manual and it says to bend back some screws to release a wiring harness... I could not find any harnesses like the one described in the manual...
Can someone point me to a step-by-step guide with pictures? Or maybe offer advice to what other reasons would cause my AC to not work anymore?
Here is the summary of what happend(keep in mind i used A/C as well as the "outside air" setting):
First, it worked fine for a LONG time (over a year). Then, it started going in and out; sometimes working, sometimes not. (also, once it came one, it stayed on until I turned the vehicle off) Then, it started getting harder and harder to get the air to come on. (and once it came on, you could barely notice it with your hand right against the vent)
Now, no matter what strength (high, low, med) or setting (A/C, vent, defroster) sometimes you can feel a hint of wind coming from the vent.
Take a pair of jumpers wires "alligator clips / wire" and bypass the circuit relay. By doing so the fan should turn on full power, if not it's the circuit. Also check your ground wires. It might also be your compressor motor going out. As they get older some compressors get harder to cycle over.
Vent Motor On a 2004 Chevy Cavalier, where is the fuse for the defrost/ blower motor?
I think the fuse is out because everything else works but when the heat/air conditioning/defog/defrost is on the air will only come out of the dashboard vents- not the floor or the vent going onto the windshield. The manual doesn't tell me where the fuse is for this and I wanted to replace that before trying anything else. Anyone have any ideas?
Its not a fuse. there is a seperate control module for the air direction in the car. the fact that the blower motor is blowing air on any setting means the blower motor fuse is good. If the fuse were bad, the blower motor would not work at all. I have not seen where this is on your particular car but i did have a chevy truck that did the same thing. unfortunetly your going to have to take it to a shop or someone really familiar with automobiles to figure it out..unless you have a really good shop manual handy which most people dont...hope this helps a lil

I have a Colman gas furnace. My vent motor stays on constantly when the furnace is running is this normal.?
I get very little heat out of the floor vents, but the vent ducting that gose to the outside of the house is very hot.
Yes, the vent motor should stay on when the furnace is running. It sounds like you may have an air flow problem. Start by making sure the routine maintenance has been done. Then, for a troubleshooting guide, check out the furnace page at my source.
