Rv water heaters Electric Camper will not run appliances on 30 amp?
We have a 2006 travel trailer that always blows a breaker when the A/C, fridge, and water heater are on electric. We have to be careful with A/C only and then add a skillet, or coffeepot, or hair dyer. I'm told we should be able to run the A/C, fridge and water heater on 30 amp service at rv parks with no problem. (Others we travel with have no problem) What can we do to improve the use? Fridge and water heater can run off propane but since we are paying for electric we like to use it...
It is easy to calculate your amp usage and based on that see if you get enough amps, just keep in mind that the weakest link(breaker) in the system will blow. So if your main RV breaker is 30Amp, and the camping one is 20, you have 20Amp to use.
Now if you look onto all your appliances, it will give you the power consumption in Watt (W), kilowatt (kW), sometimes also referred to as VA or kVA.
The amps used at a certain time is the sum of all power consumptions in watt (or VA) + sum of all power consumption in KW or kVA times thousand.
Then divide that figure by the voltage (110V in US, 230V in EU).
That will give you a rough Idea of the Amps drawn at that moment.
If you are way under that, either the breaker is "tired" and need to be replaced, or you have something going on on yuor high voltage circuit. If that is the case I would have it checked out by a professional as this could lead to bigger problems like fire or electrocution!

Rv Heat Pump rebuilt 305 with RV cam keeps running hot with no stat, and new water pump and radiator?
i just had a 305 rebuilt with an small RV cam.
started running hot, so here is what i did replaced water pump. replaced hoses. took out thermostat. no stat installed had radiator checked and rodded. set the timing several times and no difference. heats up rather fast and really heats up at speeds has electric fans and never overheated before.
no bubbles in radiator no water in oil. no indications of a blown head gasket.
please help lol ok well the thermostat did nothing, it is still running way to hot. i made another post wuestion about if my distributor was the problem please look into it if yall have time.
With out a thermostat the coolant doesn't stay in the Radiator long enough to cool down. Put in a 195 thermostat and see how Much better your car runs!

Fog your boat engine by revving the engine to about 1500 rpm and spray fogging oil into the carburetor. When the RPMs begin to drop, shut off the engine. Change your engine oil after you’ve run your engines. Warm oil flows much easier. Drain as much dirty oil as possible. It’s easiest done with an oil extractor. Remove your propellers and examine them for nicks, or bends in the prop blades. Check the prop shaft. Grease the shaft with some quality, waterproof grease. I have an RV with a 50Amp service panel, with central AC unit and electric water heater that,when running, pretty much puts the panel near its capacity. I would like to add an electric dryer; however there is no more room in the panel, and it would overload anyway if it did. The AC runs off a 30Amp, 2 pole breaker. I'd like to know if there is such a breaker that I could hook the AC and dryer up to, that would allow me to run either appliance, but not both at the same time? In other words, is there a three-way breaker, that would fit in one double-pole slot, that would have positions of AC-OFF-Dryer? Thanks...
You said that you already have the service panel fully utilized. That means, legally (because an RV is governed by the NEC you can't add a separate dedicated circuit, running 30 amp 240v (2 pole) which you would switch on when you wanted to use the dryer (switching the a/c off), even if there is space in the panel to do it. Especially if you use mini breakers (1/2 size) I can't advise you to do that legally. The service panel replacement, by a qualified electrician, 50 A to 100A service is what I can advise legally.
