In my RV, the refrigerator has dual operation (electric or gas). It is an older model, and the refrigerator does not work when hooked to electricity. However, it does work while hooked to LP gas. I can buy a decent sized mini fridge from Wal Mart for $130-$200 and run it off the electricity. In the long run, which is more cost efficient? The stove and oven are the only two appliances run off the LP gas, the water heater is electric.
The RV refrigerators use a heat transfer jell that circulates when it is "heated". The electric side of the refrigerator is just a small heater coil or loop. My guess is that this is either not plugged in in the access box or it has burnt out (check your fuses/breakers as well). You may be able to find a replacement at your RV service dealer. "NOTE" the electric side of the refrigerator runs off of 110/120v A.C. and should be used when you are hooked up. Save your L.P. for cooking/heating...

Which Generator type, Gas Propane Diesel is best for a mobile trailer workshop?
I am purchasing a LARGE MOBILE TRAILER to be my mobile workshop. I wonder which would best regarding fumes and general maintenance. Onan approx. 7000w is my preffered choice at this point.
One that runs on propane will be the best as far as pollution goes. Gas gives the more power, diesel would cost too much and of course, pollutes the most. You need to calculate the total wattage you'll be using and buy a generator rated for it. Note that on most generators the advertised wattage is serge wattage and the sustainable wattage is less.
