Is there a battery powered inverter that exists?


I'm looking for something like a regular car inverter for my AC appliances... a lamp, laptop, radio, etc...

But is there something like an inverter that can be plugged into the wall at night, charged up like a laptop battery, then removed and placed where you need it? Basically a battery powered inverter. Or if anyone knows how I could somehow hook up several laptop batteries to an inverter and make my own.

check out Sam's Club, Costco, WalMart, NAPA, AutoZone, Advanced Auto for a 12v battery "jumper kit".

Some come with a small 150w inverter. I bought mine at Sam's Club. It has a 12v 17AH Gel Cell inside, jumper cables, and an inverter.

You can put 12v batteries inside a 50cal ammo can with an inverter and have the same thing.

does anyone know about rv electrical?


bought a motorhome, plugged into house with adapter blows the breaker in house. Turned all breakers off in coach, plugged into house again and turned breakers in coach on 1 by 1..generator main flipped the house breaker. as of now the generator main is left off and it no longer blows house breaker...is this safe?normal? what does it say? any help would be appreciated.
Realize that it's not a big deal, just leave it off but would like to know if something is wrong and what it might be or if it's suppose to be that way (for safety, not running both at same time?)

I've never seen that happen but you only need the generator main on if you're running on the generator so it's really not a big thing.

the output is 3500 watts, but the volts are different you need to read

How much would it cost to use a small diesel generator to run AC since I can afford what PG&E charges?

I am not convinced, did I mention I live in a state that uses smart meters and baseline power billing. and pseudo science to set energy policy

If you are going to use a small generator, natural gas will be likely to cost less than diesel; but I still think buying from PG&E will cost less.

Possible exception: You need power in the middle of nowhere, for a short time, and PG&E will charge lots of money to run a line and new transformer to the location. (In this case, you still may wish to *rent* the generator)

What is the most economical way to heat a tent?


There are many options like catalytic, kerosene, some sort of diesel heater, alcohol, generators, etc. Please help me find the cheapest way. I'm actually heating my small truck bed camper space. Thanks for reading.

Power inverter
