The lure of the open road is one that has drawn whole families out of their homes for generations now, and the tradition is continuing with the Class C motorhome, which makes long distance travel more comfortable than ever before. These are affordable titans of the road that include all of the amenities of home in a compact container. What is important to remember is that even though you may feel extraordinarily safe behind the wheel of one of these gentle giants, accidents do still happen, even to the most experienced and cautious driver.
This is why it's helpful to brush up on some safety tips. A whole new set of concerns can arise as a result of taking a Class C motorhome out on the road, especially if you plan on visiting remote areas out in the wilderness. This is part of the whole appeal of having a camper at your disposal, the ability to camp. However, along with this comes responsibility should your vehicle end up breaking down far from civilization. Be sure to bring an adequate supply of maps for the entire journey, and pick up new ones if you are entering terrain that is unfamiliar.
Other items to bring on board your Class C motorhome in case of emergency include adequate supplies of water and non-perishable food items in the event that you get stranded for a couple of days. Also blankets, flashlights, and oil lanterns are good to have on hand. Be sure to bring along a first aid kit for small injuries that are par for the course on any camping trip, as well as a tool kit for small repairs you may have to make to the vehicle or to appliances within. These are just common sense items that most likely will even be included if you are renting your vehicle.
The final consideration that you should think about before taking your Class C motorhome out on the road are normal tips to avoid crime. Don't pick up hitchhikers, and be sure to lock your doors whenever you leave the vehicle, even for just a few minutes. Avoiding rest stops in isolated areas at night is a good idea to avoid getting mugged. These are not meant to be overly cautious or alarmist, but it's always best to prepare for the worst. In most cases you will drift along the road with no worries.

Home Energy Kit - Warren Gillcrest Home Energy Kit Review
Today’s economic situation is perhaps one of the worst storms that we have to endure. Aside from the failing economy, we are faced with rising cost of oil that powers our electric utilities’ power generators. We need to look for alternative ways to make ends meet. One way is to reduce electricity bills. This could be done by getting hold of a home energy kit to harness nature’s electricity source.
Nature has provided us with limitless sources of energy which we could convert into electricity such as the wind and the sun. However, orthodox power generation has made us think that harnessing this source is expensive and impractical.
However, Warren Gillcrest has disproved this notion by making his own home energy kit to power his own home. He had only not saved thousands of dollars every year from electricity bills but has also helped Mother Nature by not contributing to pollution. He had documented his research and blueprints in a manual that will teach you how to build your own solar or wind power system. His Home-Energy-Kit system allows you to power your own home without the high costs usually associated with other systems.
Although it is easier to buy a ready to install power system for your home’s electricity needs but it would also take you many years before you could see returns in your investments. There is also a possibility that it will need repairs even before you could recoup your investments.
Rv Generator Repair Who is liable, the RV shop or me?
The generator on my RV wasn't working right so I took it to a shop for repair. The shop fixed the generator and I paid $550.00 for the repair. I decided to sell the RV on consignment at the very same shop (unfortunately without a contract.) The shop sold my RV. The generator quit working. Who's liable? Or is it simply buyer beware?
Well, there are a couple of answers.
First off, the buyer is responsible for checking and verifying proper funciton of all parts of a used car. Especially an RV with many auxillary devices. Its a used RV so it is AS IS, NO WARRANTY unless someone sold them a written warranty.
Second, if the generator failed within a short time of repair, I would talk to the shop about it. If they stand behind their work, and its within their warranty period, the new buyer should be able to get it taken care of. However, if sufficient time hsa gone by that its not under their shop warranty any more, then the buyer is on his own.

Rubber is the only material that people think of as being absolutely waterproof which has been proven with its use in vast range of products from Wellington boots, gloves to diving suites. EPDM is an extremely robust material, is extremely resilient to puncture or penetration, is not affected by atmospheric pollution, UV light ozone or acid rain and unlike most bituminous materials, it does not degrade, crack, or become brittle after long periods exposed to the harsh elements of the weather.
Over the years, EPDM has proven its longevity in Artic conditions, temperate zones and tropical climates, in fact, installations carried out in the early sixties are still giving outstanding performance to this day! EPDM rubber membrane, the once only installation is excellent for the flat roof renovation of older domestic roofs or brand new residential or commercial installations, resulting in a total waterproofing covering. Any flat roof will benefit immensely from this modern flat roofing material which flexes with ambient temperature variants and will not split, tear or become porous. It is not only suitable for flat roofs rather it also best fits metal roof, concrete roof, for RV roofs and other roofing types.
The commercial roofing industry goes back hundreds of years and, in that context, there are three "modern-day" roofing systems: EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer), PVC (polyvinyl chloride), and TPO (thermoplastic polyolefin). While they have their own individual advantages, one advantage they all share is that installation does not generate fumes. Emission of tar- and asphalt-based fumes is becoming a major roof-installation issue throughout the country
EPDM is a synthetic elastomer made by combining ethylene and propylene with a diene monomer attached. This polymer (when cross linked) is a very good moisture barrier, resistant to oxidation and UV degradation but its most important property is its ability to tolerate both low as well as high temperatures (form minus 62 to plus 350 degrees Fahrenheit). EPDM rubber is used exclusively for radiator hoses, freezer gaskets and low temperature seals, steam hoses, and rubber roofing membranes. It is also blended with other rubbers to improve their properties, A multitude of products are now better and last longer because of the contribution made by EPDM rubber.
The EPDM rubber is relatively inexpensive, and it may come in very large rolls. Often it would take a large crew of men or mechanical equipment to unroll and manipulate the materials. It is the joint work, and the penetrations which are critical in this system, and the joint compounds, adhesives, and cover flashings are quite expensive and need to be installed with great care and attention to detail. Rare are there roofs with no joints or penetrations, or mechanical equipment on flat roofs, so such detail work is very important when considering an EPDM roof system.
Roof Repair with EPDM Coatings
Roof Leaks, if encountered by EPDM Coatings will give you long lasting waterproof roof. EPDM is one of the most versatile and long lasting materials ever manufactured for outdoor exposure. EPDM coatings have many advantages over other roofing options. It remains flexible at extreme temperatures, can be installed quickly, and resists deterioration from exposure to ultraviolet radiation.
Liquid EPDM Rubber is also a very effective coating for steel especially where it is exposed to a salt environment. It can be applied on roof, gutters, structural steel, air conditioner enclosures, cooling towers, galvanized steel, unit heater flues, smoke stacks chimneys, fiberglass and non porous masonry surfaces. Liquid EPDM Rubber can be applied directly over rusted or weathered metals without the need for costly and time consuming primers.
EPDM Rubber has had a long history of superior performance in hoses, molded products, tires and roofing membranes. For example, the radiator hoses in our cars and the gaskets on our freezer doors are made of EPDM rubber and show the broad temperature range the product can handle. EPDM Roofing Membranes also have more than 30 years of successful history. EPDM is relatively inexpensive, simple to install, and fairly clean to work with when compared to conventional materials. There are not the strong odors and fumes either. The product is very stable and the resulting characteristics of Liquid EPDM such as flexibility, weatherability and chemical resistance are determined by it.
The versatile membrane offers a variety of installation options including fully adhered, ballasted or mechanically attached that deliver superior long-term weatherability and exhibit exceptional wind uplift resistance. EPDM Rubber is the perfect solution for most flat roof problems. When leaks develop in an existing EPDM roof, the solutions are almost always simple. In most cases, repair and reinforcement of seams, flashings, and perimeter solves the problems, stops the leaks, and add many more years of life to your existing roof. Typical life span of a properly installed EPDM Rubber roof is 25 years or more.
