it only gets cold when the motorhome is running but it still not getting as cold as it should to keep food the electric works and runs so does the propane but the coldest is when the motor on the RV is running and going down the road yet still on cold enough to have a cold glass of water or make ice in the freezer
what are some of the trouble shooting steps i can take before calling in a repair man

i ran into problem yesterday, when i tried to changing transmission on my 1999 yamaha R1. i can not pull stator cover. it is drum looking and have small cut-ins on the side, but unfortunately i dot have specialty claws for it
Actually thats your flywheel, and it takes a special puller, put a claw puller on it your more likely to break it than get it off.

i have an electrical problem with a generator fixed to my 12v motorcycle?
the generator in question is fixed to a triumph trident it came fitted when i bought the bike i have no regulator / rectifier with the bike and this is what i need help with . i have 4 wires on the generator stators 6 iron cores in a star formation ,3 wires spread 2 iron cores apart and one bang at the top the one at the top is totally insulated fron all wires i believe its for pulses for the timing circuit which i dont need and 3 wires i belive are 3 windings. when the bike is at idle i get 12v ac from wire 1 and 2 and also 2 and 3 however i get 1.2v ac from 1 and 3 . when i rev up to max revs i get 25v ac out of 1 and 2 and also 2 and 3 however only about 5 v from 1 and 3 this generator is from a yamaha 600 but i dont know which one . its brand new i have the same contenuity through all 3 windings but when i put the flywheel rotor over the top and fastern to the bike all windings go to earth . i have wired the bike as a -ve earth any help
If you're getting AC voltage, then it's an alternator and not a generator. A generator produces DC, an alternator AC voltage. You should get the same AC voltage out of all three pairs of wires. Since one pair is much lower, it would lead me to believe the stator is shorted out on that winding.
Somewhere you're going to need a voltage regulator and if it's an alternator, either a seperate rectifier or have diodes in the alternator.
Incidently, does this bike have a seperate electric starter? Some small gas engines use a DC generator to charge the battery and reverse the current so that it serves as a starter as well. Considering the odd ways the Brits did things back then, that wouldn't surprise me. You need to either talk to someone familiar with British electrics or get a wiring diagram.
