RV generator ? geneartor' power stays on but seems to dim on and off(36' fleetwood southwind motorhome)?


I haven't turned on the generator or rv for about 3 mos. and finally did yesterday.
Tried turning on the generator to make some popcorn and every 6 secords or so it sounded like the generator would lose power for about a second and resume again...

1) should i just let the generator run for a good while (how long's a good while?)?
2) does the generator need oil every certain amount of hours used? and what kind of oil does an onan generator use?
