onan generator Diesel How do you install an ONAN 7500 W, Diesel Generator, In a Tractor Trailer.?
I am installing an ONAN generator in the trailer in order to turn the Interior of the trailer into an Office. TV's, Radios, Gaming, Outlets, Lighting.... I need to get a fuel tank and install that also but i cant find installation instructions for the generator. Wiring, Fuel lines? Would i be able to run the main wires to a normal breaker box? Also the fuel tank? Do i need a sending unit, or does the generator have one in it. Any advise would be appreciated.
as far as mounting the generator and fuel tank hire a welding service to mount everything unless you have the means to do it yourself , such steel for mounting brackets, welder, supplies.i built a similar unit you are talking about. i just fabbed up a steel box under the trailer to hold the generator and i got a used fuel tank from a totaled reefer trailer it came with all the straps and mounting hardware to install it
the wireing you can run the 220 connection from the generator to a panel to split it off to 110 just make sure the panel you get is the same amperage as the output of the generator probly 40/60 amps and remeber you only have 7500 watts if you are going to have lots of stuff running at the same time i'd go with a bigger generator if you have air con in there it will use up half your wattage all by itself. i have a 10,000 watt on my trailer and sometimes thats not enough good luck
