generac generator Oil generac generator consuming too much oil?
My 15kW generac generator is consuming too much oil. Checked for leaks but none found. Any idea what the problem could be? Any specific places to check for leaks?
Do a compression check on the engine. If you put oil in the cylinder and the compression rises the rings are worn if it stays the same the valves are worn ,if nothing changes check the crank case assembly for cracks .Also check the seals. Good Luck.
Gas powered generators Can i power an electric car with a gas generator?
I'm getting ready to start building an electric car with a portable gas powered generator used to charge the batteries for backup. I have found a 17kw/hr generator can i use that to rapidcharge my battery bank? If not, what do I need to be able to rapid-charge my battery bank??
it will depend on what battery voltage you plan to use. there is a electric motorcycle in the EV Album site that has an on-board gen set for battery charging. I am building a power plant for my next electric conversion. having dead batteries isn't an option. do your research and ask questions. Happy Motoring
What about Natural Gas fired power plants that have near zero emissions like the ULEV Honda engines now?
California basically generates almost all of the power within it's state with natural gas fired generators. There are emission reduction systems which achieve almost zero emissions, yet it isn't required to be that clean so the power generators don't use this technology. The best available emissions control technology should be used on this power generation equipment.
You have got your facts completely wrong.
Your statement is entirely incorrect!!!!!!!!!!
Even with the best of technology natural gas fired power plants emit millions of tons of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere and make massive contributions to Global Warming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
These plants are not zero emission plants by any stretch of the imagination!!!!!!!!!!!
Natural Gas fired power plants are not a sloution to the Global Warming problem by any stretch of the imagination.

Whats goin on guys, good gas saver car under $8,500?
Really don't want the Civic. 2000+ year. Corolla is the best gas milaege so far. 32-40 mpg.
I'm not looking for the BEST. but a fun car that gets say 30-35.
Jetta turbo actually failed. I though it'd be real good. But, i need better gas milaege, better then 22-28! This car is for work, but then 'm joning the military off to flight school for the army.
So this is just an average car. Please. Don't refer to any Hyundai, Kia Etc!
true corolla has the best fuel mileage. alternatives I'd recommend: mazda protege or mitsu galant (pre 04). Its a really fun car to drive and fuel mileage is pretty good, getting 27-32 mpg is easy. Nissan sentra is also a decent choice. Protege is my favorite. While I agree that the mileage at 27-35 is nowhere near the corolla, consider this: a protege cost a lot less than a corolla or civic, expect to spend about 25-40% less (ex: an 00 protege cost about 4-5k, compared to 00 civic or corolla's 6-8k), and insurance also cost less. such price gap is enough to compromise a little fuel econ imo. goodluck
