Rv refrigerator Lp Has anyone ever heard of a household refrigerator that works off of 110AC & LP gas?
Say there's a storm and you loose power, If you're without power for a long time, you could loose the food in your refrigerator/freezer. Is there a refrigerator that would automatically convert to LP when you loose power and revert back to AC when the power comes back on? I know that RV's have these types of refrigerators, but all the refrigerators I've seen in campers are small and can't hold much.

Your Open QuestionShow me another » 5th wheel RV LP gas/electric refrigerator The LP gas/electric refrigerator indicator light (at the top on the out side) does not light up when the button is pushed in or out..nor does the refrigerator run, what are some things that I can check to see what the problem may be? This problem occur after a new relay switch was installed for the slide out.
This could be a wireing issue, or a possibly failure in some instalation. But do to the fact that this is a propane system and you can be asleep in side the RV i would recomend having this system inspected immediatly by a trained tech. I know it is not what you may be wanting to hear. But anything that could lead to a possible leak and or firey death could be a good reason to have this system checked. Now in my RV when this happend all i did was disconect the Propane vent the system and pull out the Refrigerator and inspect all connections and make sure all was good and seals were good i also had a local RV shop test it out side of the RV found out that it was no good and instaled a used one my self. Takes bout 2 people to lift it out and put it back in. (side not the used one quit working a few years back so i pulled it out put a cap on the propane outlet and instaled a much cheaper new refrigerator from lowes. Granted its not specificly for a RV and i had to cut the opening a little to make it fit. But it was well worth it. you may also if you choose to do this wire up a plug for it depeing on you RV set up. the only down side to this is that you will no longer have a refrigerator that will work on propane. But generlay and when they stop cooling on propane the unit inside is broke and the cost to repair it is generaly about half the cost of replaceing the entire unit with a new one. i own a repair shop,,and i have a lot of customers who run the generators,,so they can run both air conditioners on them,,it wont hurt anything,,you just have to make sure you have the cross-over switch in the right position,,for it,,i don't know where the switch is for your motor home,,but I'm sure you do you have probably used it a lot,,i hope this help,s,,good luck with it.

RV generator. Which one is the best for the price?
I know the honda is a popular model. But there are other less expensive generators that seem to equal in performance. Like the Kipor and Champion. I was just wondering if anybody has had any advice on this.
I would not use any bolt-down boat anchor style generator, Honda or not. The portable Hondas are great, however, for a price! I use a 3HP Honda horizontal crank general purpose motor, belt coupled to an automotive alternator. I could have used an adjustable regulator, but saved money by using a 1 to 2 ohm resistor (with off-switch in series for stopping battery drain after the motor is out of gas), between the output terminal and the reg terminal on the alternator. This is between 2 and 3 times more efficient than running the vehicle engine to charge an RV deep cycle battery bank. An inverter makes AC power to run my AC stuff silently. Any cheaper motor will also work, but with these things you really do get what you pay for! Regards, Larry.

i first thing i would do is get all things that could help me like bottled water weapon and non perishable or long lasting foods then i would get in a good vehicle like an rv because its big hard to tip over the windows are high up and if u get hit by it ur efed up and use that to get my family and close friends then i would find a gun shop get all the guns and ammo i can find in 10 or 15 minutes after that i would go to a rural area so that the will be less zombies and go in a small shoping mart barricade the main entrances and windows with 2x4 heavy bags and or furniture leaving at least 2 doors for emergencies like a fire exit then grab two people find a car that works and get a ham radio generator and supplies for the barricades then get in the rv and look for a pharmacy, survivors, and supplies after that i would just wait it out and try to keep my people safe an sane

xantrex inverter 3000 why is my power inverter suddenly blowing fuses after 1.5 years of reliable service?
xantrex 1500/3000 watt inverter. 100amp fuse in line. grounded to vehical. new battery 5 months ago. running same equipment, nothing new.... 2nd fuse blew after 15 minutes of use with vehical running.... any help appreciated. wiring has not changed... inverter is hard wired to the battery... not plugged into lighter or power port.
I would start by checking the wiring anyway. Make sure it is not able to bump on something and short out. If all is fine there make sure the connections are tight. If you have a loose connection you could blow your fuse just like with a short. If you have a DC amp meter you could watch it to see if there is a jump in amps.
Then being it is out of warnty you might pop the top off the inverter and see if everything looks ok in there nothing loose or not black spots where it is getting hot.
Then if the fan is not working it just might be getting hot too. You did say it took it about 15 minutes to blow the fuse?
After you have checked all that you could get it fixed for about what it is worth or just get a new one. I have a Xantrex Prosine 2.0.. great inverter.
