Propane Gas A steel storage tank for propane gas is in the shape of a right cicular cylinder of altitude 10ft with a hemis?
A steel storage tank for propane gas is in the shape of a right cicular cylinder of altitude 10ft with a hemishphere attached to each end. Express the volume V(in ft3) of the tank as a function of r (in feeet)
v = v(cylinder) + v(sphere) ... where the radius of cylinder and sphere are equal
V = π r^2 h + 4/3 π r^3 . . . given h = 10 V = 10 π r^2 + 4/3 π r^3 or V = 2/3 π r^2 (2r + 15)
Barbeque Bbq Gas Why doesn't my new Natural Gas Barbeque fit on the outlet on my house?
We bought a new Natural Gas BBQ today and assembled it. I believe is natural gas for sure, the box says it is (we had the option of natural gas or propane, and both types had clearly labeled boxes).
When attempting to fit the Natural Gas BBQ's hose to the outlet on the house, it is the correct type, but slightly too small. The outlet on the house seems to be just slightly larger than the connector on the BBQ. Maybe an 1/8 of an inch or so.
This is a new house. Is there something we were supposed to do? Did the builder miss something? Please help! Of course, we were hoping to BBQ tonight...going to plan B!
There are several different manufacturers of quick disconnect couplings and there are different nipple lengths to them as well. See if there is any manufacturers info or part numbers on the house portion of the quick disconnect and take that info to a HVAC supplier. They can probably supply you with the correct fitting. As a last resort the builder should be able to find out from the gas fitter who did the installation whose QD fittings they used.
How to Barbecue on a Gas Grill : How to Clean a Gas Grill
Bbq Gas Grill What is the best way to clean my gas bbq grill?
I want to clean my grill today and I don't want to drive to town to find a commercial cleaner. I always try to scrape off the residue each time I BBQ, but it never seems to come clean. My grill grates are porcelain. Is it okay to use an oven cleaner?
it seems to me that the grill cleans easiest when hot. I usually clean it before each use since we wait to heat it prior to cooking. I then take a wire brush to it, right on the bar-bee, and all that falls from it burns up. If you wish, you can lean it up and brush the underside too. Oven cleaner will not hurt it...just don't spray it on the burner itself.

Deluxe Propane Want to convert a Bringmann Smoke 'N Pit so it can burn propane as well.?
I just bought a Brinkmann 805-2101-S Pitmaster Deluxe Smoke 'N Pit. I like it a lot and want to convert it to a gas grill so that I can use it for anything from slow cooking a brisket or firing up the propane and grilling some hamburgers real quick. What would be an easy way too run some propane burners up into the main grilling area and attach them to a propane bottle? Are there any kits out there for doing this?
You can buy a burner set-up for this. Down here in the South, we call them turkey cookers. It is a burner mounted on a stand. You place the Brinkman smoker/grill on top of it, hook up the propane and your ready to go. I got mine when I bought my Brinkman a few years ago. I had a choice of the propane or electric attachment.
Barbequing outdoors is a pleasure that anyone can partake in and with so many types of grills available you can practically cook anywhere. One exception to the list is a natural gas grill which needs a permanent hook up. Listed below are some of the main advantages / disadvantages and suggestions for both natural gas and charcoal grills to help decide which one is best for you.
Charcoal Grilling and Benefits
The backyard chef's favorite challenge is to create the perfect fire for grilling to produce that mouthwatering smoky taste! Most popular and with about 80% of all American households owning one, is the barbeque grill. Approximately 47% of these bbq owners are cooking with good old charcoal. With brands such as Weber, clearly the most popular charcoal grill sold, as well as a household name, one might dismiss other quality charcoal grillers. But brands such as Brinkman and Hibachi are sought-after as are lesser known charcoal grillers Arctic, Meco, Aussie, Texas Pit Masters, Uniflame, Capital and Thermos, Fire Magic and others.
If you are looking to find the right barbeque charcoal grill, you are in luck. Why? Charcoal grills can add an extra smoky flavor to your grilling that gas grills can't! And, these grills are affordable to suit any budget. That said, if you buy a fancy one with deluxe features, the price tag will be higher. However, compared to an outdoor gas grill featuring mechanical parts and a more complicated design, charcoal grillers are just more economical.
Which charcoal barbeque to buy?
Begin with a few simple questions. How many people will you be grilling for? Does the bbq need to be a specific grill type such as: portable, stainless steel or cast iron? Are you looking for a particular brand: Weber charcoal grills, Brinkman charcoal grills, Hibachi, Arctic, Patio Life, Meco, Aussie or something else
With a charcoal grill, if you are going to be cooking for a lot of people or just a few people, size matters. A small charcoal grill is 300 to 500 sq. in. cooking surface; a medium charcoal grill is 500 to 700 sq. in. cooking surface; and a large grill is 700 sq. in. and up. So make sure you are getting the size you that fits your needs. If you need something portable, take a look at the brands Weber and Arctic. You will find these to be lightweight and easy to carry. A lock-lid is a convenient portable barbeques feature for camping and outdoor picnicking. see: http://www.outdoor-fireplaces-and-patio-heaters.com/charcoal-grills.htm
Natural gas grilling and benefits
How many times have you wanted to barbeque on a Saturday night but were out of propane gas? With a natural gas grill you will never have to worry about the grilling disaster because you'll never run out of propane while grilling steaks for friends. If you're in the market shopping for a barbeque that will offer you great convenience and ease, then natural gas is the way to go. Why? Unlike charcoal grills, there is no waiting for the coals to heat up. With a natural gas grill you just push the button, turn the dial and ignite! And, since these barbeques are connected to the gas supply piping of the home, they are always ready for cooking.
How to choose the natural gas grill that's right for you
It's never easy deciding, especially when there are so many outdoor grill manufacturers to choose from: Weber, Broilmaster, Lynx, Fire Magic and many more. And besides the brands, you've got to figure out which brand model will suit your grilling needs. Here are some grill features to consider: What size cooking surface do you need? Does the barbeque need side shelves? Do you want a multi-burner system, meaning 2, 4, or 6 burners? Do you want warming shelves, a side burner, a grease catcher? And what about the grill's appearance? Does it need need to fit into an outdoor kitchen? Or to match the décor of the exterior of your house?
Two great ways to decide are your particular budget and reviews. Read as many gas grill reviews as possible, talk to friends with natural gas grillers, and shop around locally and online. Whatever your needs and whatever you decide, adding a barbeque to your life, be it natural gas or charcoal, will never be something you regret. see: http://www.outdoor-fireplaces-and-patio-heaters.com/outdoor-gas-grills.htm

Gas grills work by a spark igniting the gas within the grill. Gas grills typically have a knob or button in which you push, which in turn activates a small hammer. The hammer hit's the top of an ignition crystal. Then the burner mixes the gas with oxygen and spreads it all over the cooking surface.
Barbequing is typically thought of as a summer event, but some diehard fans of barbeque will not think twice about breaking out their barbeque grills right in the middle of winter. Grillers in the southern states may not face the problem, but if you live past the lower states, then chances are your Winter includes a large amount of snow. Smokers and charcoal grills present a problem as you must set the grill up properly, and then wait for the grill to get ready. This can take hours, so the idea of standing outside waiting on the grill may not sound appealing in 3 foot of snow. Gas grills give you the opportunity of quickly cooking barbeque.
Another issue found with out types of grills is the cleanup involved. Once you are done grilling with a smoker or charcoal grill, you are then required to clean out the burned remains. In 3 feet of snow, chances are that you do not have a place readily available for disposal. Fire hazards come with the burnt coals and wood chips. Gas grills will simply need a wipe down before it can be stored away for the next time.
Gas grills, unlike some of the other grills types, have the ability to come with many different types of cooking surfaces. These different cooking surfaces include a BBQ surface, a flat grill, and a ribbed grill. Some grills even offer these types of surfaces as none stick, which allow you to cook a whole array of foods that you would not be able to cook on a grill otherwise. You will be able to cook your whole meal, including side dishes if you plan correctly. Some gas grills even contain a Wok type surface for cooking pasta and rise dishes, or a full rotisserie set that allows you to cook rotisserie chicken.
A feature that comes with different cooking surfaces is the ability to cook different foods, at different temperatures, at the same time. This feature is available if your gas grill have separate burners. This allows you to cook your meals much more quickly. Some gas grills even come with a warming feature, which will keep your food warm while the rest of it finishes cooking.
Gas grills usually contain a built in thermometer, which will aide you in cooking. You will know the exact temperature you are cooking at. Charcoal and Smoker grills do not typically contain this feature, which either leaves you guessing what temperatures you are cooking at, or requires you to buy extra equipment in order to find out what temperature your food is.
Gas grills have safely concerns all of its own, but they are unmatched by other types of grills. Propane gas is extremely flammable if not used correctly. Other grills however, present higher opportunities for fire as they cook with an open flame. Gas grills are typical built much sturdier then their more simpler counterparts.
If you are considering traveling with your barbeque grill, a gas grill may be the best option. Gas grills come in small sizes which are perfect for traveling. Small size gas containers are available at your local grocery store or department store, which allows you to easily transport the fuel source as well.
