air Filter Does a new air filter make that much difference?
I just replaced the air filter in our Suburban. I don't think it's been changed for 6 years. It seems to be more powerful now. Could this really be the case or am I just dreaming?
I have a cleanable air cleaner and I clean it at every oil change. A vital part of the internal combustion engine is oxygen. Letting your air cleaner get gummed up with 6 years of grim is literally strangling your engine. I would replace an air cleaner every two or three oil changes (which should occur about every 3000 miles or so I don't care what the manual may say) or buy one from a company like K&N that is cleanable and clean it every oil change.
The filter in my air conditioning/heating unit (in my apartment) is extremely dirty. Maintenance is supposed to come and change them once a month, but I guess they haven't gotten around to it this month. I plan on getting a new one soon, but I'm wondering - is it possible to clean them somehow, until I get a new one? I've noticed that since it has been dirty, the system is much louder (running the heat OR the a/c). Could this be due to the dirty filter, or may there be something else wrong with the system?
Yes you can and it will help with the noise, if there is nothing else wrong with the system. Usually when air filters are dirty the system is stressing and working harder to suck in as much air as its shooting out cause it cant shoot out air if it can't suck it in to cool it down or heat it up. You can use a hose attachment on a vacume cleaner just be very careful and gentle the filters are easy to damage if there the cheap kind. If your vacum cleaner has a setting for low, use it. Another option is to clan off all the big stuff off the filter then use a can of air, ususally sold at computer stores or walmart in the electronics dept by their computer stuff, and blow all the dust off from both sides. You can also get old fashoined and gently bang it on the floor outside. that method is way easier to damage the filter. But as long as you get the big accumulation of dust off the filter will allow air to flow through and cause less stress on your a/c.

A built in dishwasher is the regular kitchen appliance that takes up some permanent room in a kitchen and is naturally built-in and it comes with drop-down doors and typically costs between two hundred and 50 greenbacks to sixteen hundred greenbacks.
Compact dishwashers are a more handy kitchen appliance that suits our living in tiny sized flats or who travel by RV. Such a kitchen appliance would cost about 3 150 dollars and will incorporate standard features that are also found in most regular kind of dishwashers.
In-sink dishwashers will actually fit within your kitchen sink and is able to handle little sized loads in double-quick time and so if you'd like to hastily wash your soiled glasses then this is the correct kitchen appliance for you. Priced around around eighteen hundred dollars it is a good buy.
The drawer dishwasher also fits into a sink and it too is suitable for management small loads in double time and it can double up as additional counter space. A solitary drawer dishwasher costs circa 700 greenbacks while a double drawer dishwasher costs about twelve hundred bucks.
Eventually, you might want to try the portable dishwasher that is an perfect kitchen appliance for renters and also for a homeowner that has limited space.
Major kitchen appliances are making modern life a load more comfortable and it is indeed tough to imagine living a standard life without one or more such appliance. There are many categories of major kitchen appliances to make a choice from including refrigerators, dishwashers, heaters, air conditioners and ovens as well as cooktops as too washers and dryers.
When it concerns a major kitchen appliance with which to do your cooking you can choose between a stove and an oven and there are options like the gas range as too the electric range that you can pick and choose from.
When picking an oven you need to establish what size is good for your cooking wishes and a range which has a larger sized looped cooking element provides better heating and is ideally suited for your baking wants.
The washer and dryer are other major kitchen appliances that have to be chosen with care.
Some folk even go the additional mile and employ a designer to do the selection for them, particularly when it is necessary to conserve room and manage various traffic patterns. Be sure to add a stainless steel kitchen faucet for that finsishing touch.

Rv water heater Used What is wrong with my propane water heater?
Just before winter my propane water heater in my travel trailer started to blow out more air when it would heat the water. It would blow out flames and then it would let out a blast of air and a high pitched noise and then the flame would come on again. This would happen every time the water heater would kick in. It sound so bad that I have been too scared to light it and would go somewhere to take my showers and used my coffee pot to boil my water. I called the RV repair shop and they said it may need blowing out, but they said they would not come to me to do it, I would have to take my trailer to them. I can't do that, my trailer is tied down and skirted in a RV park. Is there a safe way for me to do this myself?? My propane tank is full and my stove/oven works just fine.
You can try adjusting the air shutter on the burner tube. Loosen the screw a little and slide the shutter either direction until the burner has a mostly blue flame and is burning quietly. If that doesn't work then dissembling the burner assembly and cleaning everything is your next option.
While you have the burner dissembled be sure you clean the U-tube heat exchanger in the water tank as best you can.
If adjusting the air shutter doesn't solve the problem your best bet is to find an RV tech that will come to you. Ask around for a mobile RV tech or try to talk directly with one of the techs at the RV shop to see if you can get him to come after work or on a weekend and pay him directly.
Gallon air I need an air pump for a 50 gallon fish tank?
I need an air pump for a 50 gallon fish tank. It seems that everywhere I look they only have pumps for 10 and 25 gallon pumps. Do you know of a reputable website that I can find what I want?
They carry dual air pump at walmart that is what I have in my 55 gal tank.
Anyone heard of the ProLine 11 gallon air compressor that's at Pepboys?
I noticed it's included in the black friday ads, and I know my boyfriend needs one. It's an awesome deal, but I can't find info on it anywhere, ya k now, reviews n stuff. Anyone know where I can find reviews? Or have you heard of the brand and know anything about it? I just don't want to waste my time and money if it's not worth it.
Thanks!!!!!
You get what you pay for. I'd HIGHLY recommend buying one from Sears instead. The compression seal is going to wear out, and you'll end up throwing the whole thing away, unless you go with Sears. They've got a GREAT service to get you any individual piece you need so you won't have to replace the whole thing, and that'll make it cheaper in the long run.
Rv Air Conditioner How can I keep the sun and heat out of my RV motorhome this summer?
I wont have a lot of power to run air conditioner due to dry camping, but I want to keep cool during the hot humid summer. What are some good tips to staying cool? Here is some random questions I have and things I have tried thus far:
*Tried the tint film, looks good where I did it, kind of frustrating!!
*Still have yet to find a low watt high power fan, any ideas?
What about a 12v air conditioner? Not a swamp cooler, humidity is already bad here!
*I have 3 ceiling vents, one with a 12v mini fan.
*PLEASE LEAVE TIPS HERE!!
Humidity makes the heat worse...If possible, use a dehumidifier...Or you can use these containers with little moisture absorbing pellets that pull moisture out of the air..I believe they are called Damp Rid
How would you respond if a man who owned a business called 'RV Heating and AC' yelled at you?
I work at an answering service and one of our accounts is this guy who only fixes air conditioners and heating units in trailer homes. He yelled at me today over something that wasn't even my fault. In the back of my mind I thought 'Oh well! You cater to white trash, you loser.' and it made me feel better. What would you think in this situation?
I would yell back and tell him if he wanted to continue he would have to talk in a decent manner.Idiots like that give decent hard working people a bad name.He probably thinks he's a big man and ripping off his customers so he thinks he can deal with everyone like they're his pawns. It will catch up with him sooner or later. Don't let lowlifes like him change your professional work ethics.
