Rv air conditioner Heat Should I leave my air conditioner on in my RV in summer?
I live in Alabama and today was a hot one. I am not using my RV now but I always leave it plugged in to keep the battery charged. The heat index today was in the triple digits and I am wondering should I turn the A/C on on days like this to get the temp down at least under 100? Should I treat it just like my house and have the thermostat set at a decent temp or do I just not worry about it if I am not using it? In other words, is leaving it off hurting things like appliances and electronics or just the RV in general?
RVs cool down very fast and unless your in it 24/7 turn it off. It won't effect your appliances or anything else any at all. Just keep the windows open if your still using the fridge for food storage if not shut that down too. I use a solar roof charger I got at Harbor Freight that keeps the batteries up.
