I have a propane grill outside, do I need to bring it inside?
I have a propane grill that is currently outside on my back porch. It ranges between 0-35 degress in the winter in my area with snow and wind. My grill has a heavy duty cover over it. My question is...is it ok outside or do I need to take it inside, do I need to take the detachable propane tank inside if the grill is ok outside.
The tank will be fine. LP tanks use liquid propane. Propane itself won't freeze and cause anything like bottle splitting. Water is one of the only compounds that takes up more volume in solid than liquid form anyhow. If anything, if it is below freezing, and you try to use your propane grill, you'll have to have it set ever so slightly lower while using it because of a greater liquid gas density.

Reminds me of the Colorado fires in 1999, in way eastern Park County.
A followup question: a propane tank is a system in balance where the tank pressure is a function of the temperature. When you use gas, the pressure drops, more liquid boils away, the pressure recovers, and the temperature drops. But after the draw is stopped, the tank temperature will recover, and you would think that the final pressure would be the same as the initial pressure. If this were true, pressure gauges would be useless as an inventory gauge. My question then is why does pressure change as a function of inventory rather than temperature? Thanks.
The tank could be close to empty and not have enough pressure to pass through a blockage. Check the tube where the gas leads to the burner, and the burner also. Spiders love to build a nest inside those small spaces. I had a natural gas BBQ pit in My backyard, and constantly had spiders blocking the tube. The flame was yellow when ever it was blocked.
