Thanks Kevin. It's good to know the battery reduces the power drain. I've read if that battery runs out, you get disconnected though.
Still this is very tempting.
The easiest solution I've had was when I was borrowing a Nokia N75 (3g). Since it uses Bluetooth DUN instead of PAN, you can always keep the phone in you pocket. No menus to navigate to turn on ICS. You connect all through Windows. The huge problem is battery life on the phone. It only lasted an hour and a half w/ an EDGE connection. Another thing is that tethered speeds with your phone are slower than dedicated data plans. Even through USB. Lastly, it sucks not being able to use your phone to make calls while it's being tethered.
