How to change out a laundry dryer power cord?
I have a dryer I need to change to a four prong power cord. I know to put the white in the middle, and the red or black on either side. The problem I have is the ground wire, the green one, currently runs from the nut on the door into the dryer. Do I keep this current green wire? Its not a part of the current power cord? Can I overlap the green wire to the new power cord over this one?
If you haven't figured it out already, That green wire needs to be removed from the middle of the terminal block and attached to the green wire from the "pig-tail". And no, do NOT overlap them. It HAS to be removed from the neutral of the system.

Co-incidence! The Toshiba satellite laptop I purchased In July LOCKED UP yesterday-I called Toshiba Tech support and they had me 1. Remove the battery. 2. remove the power cord 3. hold the power button for 5 secs 4. plug the power cord 5. turn on computor 6. at safe mode click on “start in normal mode” (i use a mouse and had disabled the pad so I was not able to click! but it took off by itself!)Well-everything is back to normal-but you anticipate the “next occurrence”. He just stated “it happens sometimes”. GRRRRRRR. Hope you had a good holiday! Smitty

Have you not? In our former flat the boiler room looked like Mad-Max-meets-The Timemachine (by H.-G.-Wells), right in the middle of neat and fastidious southern Germany. We needed to switch off the water to replace a broken faucet, but we could not get to the tap, it was so cluttered with tubes and hoses and duct tape and power cords… We put in a new faucet with me holding a bucket and my husband working with rubber gloves in a jet of 60 °C hot water.]]>
