Kohler Rv Generator
I have a Kolher RV generator and am having problems with something simple. Read Description.

It starts up fine, no problems. Runs for about 4 seconds then shuts back down.
I've rebuilt the carburetor, new fuel pump, new plug, its a M10 Kohler engine generator i think 1980 model. I've had this problem before but cant remember what i did before. Basically i need some ideas with a brief explanation of somethings to try to fix it. Ive been messing with this thing for awhile now so anything will help. Thanks for your time.
Check the float level and the needle and seat for correct level and operation

my kohler generator on a1984 georgieboy rv only runs 5 minutes then shuts off and won't run for another 5 min!
the oil and filter have been changed. oil level is good. fuel pump and filter are good. is getting gas. after it shuts off, it will not run on its own for approximately 5 minutes. if i hold the start button down, it will continue to run, but dies when i let go. it seems to be something electrical. is it equipped with any type of timer?
it is only running for about a minute now. spark plugs are new. air filter is new. carbuerator is clean. new oil and filter.oil level reads perfect. fuel filter is new. a gas vacuum was mentioned, so i took the gas cap off. same thing.
defective oil level switch? where is this and can i just do away with it on a kohler 7000 model # 7cm21-RV
when i slide the generator out and take the electric panel cover off, it runs correctly. what is the problem? obviously it is overheating in its compartment, but why? what is the remedy? why does the electric panel get extremely hot when in place? and why does it kill when this area gets hot?
Check the oil level in the generator. If it is low the low oil sensor will cut the generator off.

As has been pointed out, the cost of manufacture of Solar Panels and the cost to you and Mr. Book will far exceed any financial or “green” benefits.
30 years ago, when I could afford to throw away a few thousand dollars, I tried a solar pool heater — here in S. Florida. (I am allergic to cold). It was a messy and expensive disaster. So was the solar water heater for the house.
Likewise I tried a solar panel for “boondocking” with my RV but all the unattractive paraphernalia cost more than I wanted to invest. Instead I just used my RV generator and contentedly puffed CO and CO2 and whatever into the air.
The cost outweighs the benefits.. except maybe to soothe the liberal soul.
