generator For Camper
I'm going camping..Is it safe to plug my laptop into agasoline powered generator?
I don't want to do this if it messes up my NEW laptop.
Also, please provide FULL and DETAILED answers,,, short answers such as "NO" will be ignored. 
i have a surge protector that came with my gateway desktop,,,but i dont know the wattage/voltage, and all that high techie stuff,,,how do i know FOR SURE that it wont harm my precious laptop? and would people quit saying thats sad!? I HATE camping, so i have to have soething to keep me busy, and not bitchy.
I know nothing about generators,,, its not even mine, it's my grandpa's generator. It's fairly new,,, not SUPER NEW, but NEWER,,, I don't think he has the book to it either,,, if i knew the model/brand I could look it up on the net,,, but I don't know any of that kinda stuff...

the ac adapter of the laptop will cushion surges.
You can get a laptop surge protector to be on the safe side.
You could also charge the battery from the generator and run it off the batteries if you are concerned.
Laptop are made to run off of varying portable situations and have wide variences.
That is at least the older real ones
Not the cheaper ones made for idiot women to place on a desk , plug into an ac adapter and never move - all cause "they are so cute"

Sometimes it can get confusing with so many different types of green energy devices and energy saving methods being talked about and being mentioned here and there around the Internet and the News.
I know that when I first built my first set of solar panels, my biggest fear was that I select the wrong alternative energy device -(Wind or Solar). I just wanted soemone to tell me which was better.
But as I found out, there are different circumstances that can effect our decision - like where we livem what are goasl are and what we are willing to do .

Solar Panels are actually Photovoltaic. With the material that is used inside them -usually silicone- they take sunlight and trap it inside the panel. As soon as the sunlight hits the panel, the photovoltaic chnage happens -meaning that the electrons automatically separate from there atoms.
