Generac Generator, 4.8 KW. Pukes oil out crank case vent tube inside the air filter. Oil level OK on start up?
The most likely cause is that the oil level in the crankcase is too high. It can not be above the full mark. If it were the rings you would be getting oily smoke out the crankcase vent not straight oil and smoke out the exhaust. I would drain the oil and put in the amount recommended in the owner's manual and check the dipstick level. It is possible to have the wrong dipstick for the engine. This will give a incorrect reading.
